Become a Coach

Want to get involved and help inspire the next generation of players at Horsforth St. Margarets? We’re always looking for enthusiastic new coaches and volunteers to join our club.

The best place to start is by speaking with your child’s current manager or coach. They’ll help you understand how you can support the team and what opportunities are available.

Once you decide you’d like to join our coaching team, please contact the Club Secretary using the details at the bottom of this page.

Getting Started

Before helping with training sessions, all volunteers must complete an Enhanced DBS check through the club. This is required before you can begin assisting with coaching activities.

The club will guide you through the process and arrange everything once you get in touch and provide a few basic details.

Coaching Qualifications

We encourage all coaches to complete the following FA qualifications:

• FA Introduction to Coaching Football
• FA Emergency First Aid
• FA Safeguarding Children

These courses are enjoyable, straightforward, and designed to help you grow in confidence as a coach. Completing these qualifications will also allow you to take responsibility for teams during matches as well as training sessions.
